Same old same old... I haven't been on the guitar because I always go to work everyday and come home late and tired. we have been doing cows and calves which wear me out real quick. Like this morning we were doing bulls and we wanted to separate one of them from the other two. Well they were along the fence and I tried blocking the one and accidentally startled the bigger bull. He turned around quick and hit me and shoved me up against the fence. It could have been worse but I caught myself before I hit my head on the metal. Later that day I'll make a long story short. I ended up being covered in diesel fuel and chemical from spraying and to top it off the heat made it worse along with being under the sun. So I had a lovely day.
Still not as far as I want to be From my last blog till now I haven't really been playing the guitar. Here is why... I wake up every morning and go to work. I work till noon and eat for a hour then go back to work. well the last few days we have been working cows and their calves all day long. When I get off I either go work on buddies vehicles or I go to our second house and work on it because we are rebuilding it for my brother and his girlfriend.  So instead of a video of the guitar I am going to tell you a little story about working the calves...... Everyone thinks they are adorable when they are small( which i'm not gonna disagree because they are very adorable) but have you ever wrestle a month old calf. They are extremely stronger than you think I was was trying to get one through the run way into to the calf shoot to get it tagged and shots the other day. this one was so big he managed to turn around and try going under my legs and I ended up riding it all the wa
Got off topic a little.... So I started practicing the song I was going to do but I might have got distracted :) I started trying different songs that I love to play and found Dixieland Delight. Now this song made by the same artist of the song I originally planned on learning. So somewhat I am still on track but a little off  I took some videos of me playing it without the guitar pic and one with a guitar pic and you can definitely hear the difference between the two videos.
Sorry for the long time gap.  Since this big covid-19 came around school has dropped and things went kind of crazy. As people panic and stay home, I have been going to work because I am considered a essential for what I do. I wake up in the morning and I go straight to work on the farm while feeding the cows and taking care of the calves. I work all day and we got to the point where I am in the fields till around ten o'clock at night. So I haven't been practicing the guitar for the song I am learning.
I am still trying to get my strumming down for this song only because it is a fast tempo. I practiced more of it but not this weeked. I got away from the guitar for work and birthdays but I try to play it when I get home late before going to bed. One of my buddies likes listening to the guitar so I have been playing other random songs for him that he wants to hear. I actually figured out that one of my favorite songs is easy going to learn on the guitar and I love to play it.  But anyways I need to get back to the guitar for more practice and for another part of the song so I can remember the song and learn how to play the whole thing in my head.
Update... So I took a video of me trying to play part of the intro for Mountain Music by Alabama. It's not as loud on the video because I wasn't using a pick to strum. In my opinion I never did like using a pick when playing because I don't like how it feels and it makes some of the strumming strings louder and overpowers the other ones.  Now in the video I am nowhere near perfect with it, but it is a fast tempo song to play to.   Right off the start you will hear that beating sound and nothing playing, well that is because in the song the artist is singing and nothing is playing. I didn't beat as long as the actual song because it does it for a while, but you get the idea of it.... maybe:)
Strumming away... Out of all the songs to pick for guitar, I picked a fast strumming one:( It is a really good song but once I pick up the speed to make it sound better and change chords at the same time, I can hear the tone and pattern change too. I haven't really practice much with the guitar this week but I will try and get a video of me playing it and going over the chords for you. I might explain the strumming of it too if I don't get confused telling how to do it!
