Still not as far as I want to be

From my last blog till now I haven't really been playing the guitar. Here is why... I wake up every morning and go to work. I work till noon and eat for a hour then go back to work. well the last few days we have been working cows and their calves all day long. When I get off I either go work on buddies vehicles or I go to our second house and work on it because we are rebuilding it for my brother and his girlfriend. 

So instead of a video of the guitar I am going to tell you a little story about working the calves...... Everyone thinks they are adorable when they are small( which i'm not gonna disagree because they are very adorable) but have you ever wrestle a month old calf. They are extremely stronger than you think I was was trying to get one through the run way into to the calf shoot to get it tagged and shots the other day. this one was so big he managed to turn around and try going under my legs and I ended up riding it all the way out and back to the group. I turned around and everyone was laughing lol.

Lets get Strumming... We all love listening to music with friends or just alone. Blasting songs with full volume in your car when no one is around you. Well my favorite parts are the guitars in the background, and the leading guitars in solos. I have always loved the sound they make and what people can do with them. So in class my teacher has presented a project to us and I thought this would be great. I already have a guitar at home and it gives me a good reason to start playing it. I got the guitar a few years ago from my aunt and uncle who wanted to get rid of it. I tried learning to play it a few times but never stayed into it. I got all things to tune the strings and a book with all the chords for it. I practice over some months and can play a little here and there but the hardest for me and memorizing the strumming patterns and shaping my hands for the chords. Learning the chords... All the chords up above are the ones I need to know for the song. I know E, A, D, and G already but never used Bm before. I don't see it as a problem because its almost like a C chord pattern but moved to a different spot. I looked up patterns for this song and tried some of them...unfortunately I didn't record me trying to new stuff out yet. But I will begin recording of what I learned and will learn for you all.

Update... So I took a video of me trying to play part of the intro for Mountain Music by Alabama. It's not as loud on the video because I wasn't using a pick to strum. In my opinion I never did like using a pick when playing because I don't like how it feels and it makes some of the strumming strings louder and overpowers the other ones.  Now in the video I am nowhere near perfect with it, but it is a fast tempo song to play to.   Right off the start you will hear that beating sound and nothing playing, well that is because in the song the artist is singing and nothing is playing. I didn't beat as long as the actual song because it does it for a while, but you get the idea of it.... maybe:)
